Global Election Watch- Analysis of the US, European Union, France and Taiwan Election 🌍

ASLI hosted the first edition of our Global Election Watch covering elections in three regions, America, Europe and Asia and how they influence international politics, economics, and communities.

In 2024, with over two billion people voting, the political decisions in one country can have far-reaching effects across borders, influencing global economies and societies.

We extend our gratitude to our esteemed speakers: Prof. Shakila from the Jeffrey Cheah Institute on Southeast Asia, for her insights into the upcoming US election and dynamics of the world’s largest economy; Syed Nizamuddin, Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society for his analysis on recent elections in the European Union and France; and Dr. Lau Zhe Wei, from the Department of Political Science, IIUM for his analysis of the political landscape in Taiwan.

As this year marks a significant period for democracy, we look forward to organising more discussions on global elections. What country should we focus on next in our series?
