Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) and Ministry of National Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC) hosted the International MADANI Symposium, Sustainability: What Can the Civilisation of Islam Offer?.

We are honoured that ASLI was invited to contribute as a speaker at this prestigious symposium.

The speakers at the symposium were Ms Emma Amine Clark, Expert in Islamic Garden, Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang, Secretary General, Ministry of Health Malaysia, Datuk Dr. Syed Ali Tawfik Al-Attas, RZS-CASIS Visiting Scholar, Dr Muhammad Syafiq Borhannuddin, Fellow IKIM and Danial Rahman, CEO of ASLI.

In the presentation, CEO of ASLI addressed sustainability from an Islamic perspective, discussing 'Waqf' as a vital third sector in the economy, highlighting the need for waqf to appeal to youth, expand across sectors, as well as exploring innovative avenues like waqf carbon trading and Artificial Intelligence.

The emphasis was also placed on education's foundational role, advocating for inclusive access, not only for citizens but also for refugees and stateless individuals. The talk concluded with a call for leaders to embody sincerity, ensuring that the high ideals of MADANI and SD
