Following the precedent for elections in Malaysia, The Round Table: The Commonwealth Journal of International Affairs has commissioned a special issue to analyse electoral outcomes and their respective implications.
The Special Issue on Malaysia’s 15th General Election, guest edited by Prof Wong Chin Huat, Deputy Head (Strategy) at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s Asia Headquarters at Sunway University, will be launched at Sunway University by the journal’s chief editor, Dr Venkat Iyer of Ulster University.
In conjunction with the launch, Prof Wong will also chair a high-level panel on how Malaysia may attain and maintain political stability in the context of the emergence of hung parliaments and fragile post-election coalition governments, which Malaysia had never experienced before 2020. This high-level panel will feature present and former ministers from Malaysia’s four largest political coalitions.
This should not be missed by academics, policymakers, civil society and members of the public who have an interest in Malaysia's democracy and stability.
Keynote address:
"Parliament as A Driver of Change for Political Stability" by YB Tan Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, President of The Senate
