I am delighted to know that in the latest Global Study on Think Tanks carried out by the University of Pennsylvania and announced in the United Nations in New York and the World Bank in Washington recently, ASLI and our Center for Public Policy Studies was clearly judged the top think tank in Malaysia and no 2 in ASEAN. Overall out of 2400 think tanks globally ranked we are the only Malaysian think tank in the top 100 think tanks world wide. We are ranked no 4 in South east Asia and the Pacific (including Australia and New Zealand).
We are no 24 in the world for top transparency and good governance, 40 for best advocacy campaign, no 56 best managed think tank in the world, no 39 best think tank conference in the world, no 33 for best new idea developed by a think tank, no 32 best trans disciplinary think tank and no 15 for best quality assurance and integrity policies. We are also 48th best independent think tank in the world and no 26 worldwide for best think tank with operating Budget less than USD 5 million.
"This is very satisfying for our hard work and strong commitment to our core values of integrity, good governance and teamwork and achieving this with our low Budget and limited resources. We shall continue with our research and public advocacy to serve the nation and the people of Malaysia", said Tan Sri Yeoh.
Meanwhile the Chairman of the ASLI-CPPS Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam said, "As Chairman of CPPS I am delighted we have scored highly in this prestigious world ranking of Think Tanks. We have consistently maintained high quality and integrity in all our research analyses. With strong support from the Government and the public for our independent insights and views, we are confident we will continue to serve our society for a better Malaysia."
