ASLI's Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS) engages in public policy analysis, policy advocacy and roundtables. CPPS carries out research studies on nation-building contributing to important public debate on ethnic relations; good governance and corruption; poverty and income inequalities; education and human capital development; national competitiveness and sustainable development. The CPPS programmes are aimed at building a fair, just multi-racial and multi-religious society. The CPPS also launched the Merdeka Statement, general principles of nation building and the campaign against extremism.
In a Global Study of Think Tanks undertaken by the University of Pennsylvania USA and launched in the United Nations in New York, CPPS was ranked top think tank in Malaysia, 2nd in Asean and 4th in South east Asia and the Pacific (including Australia and New Zealand).
